Matthew D @OceanSage 3d Old men get to go on one more mission. It's fairly slow, but the cast are quite charming to watch again. Gregory Peck makes for a cool and steadfast spy leader. Roger Moore steals the movie as he's basically still James Bond here. He's practically in a Bond film all his own as he flirts with the German spy lady Barbara Kellerman and shoots down German agents. David Niven is his usual fastidious and nervous self. It's otherwise unremarkable as a war film. The espionage, spying, listening in, and secretive mission aspects are better than any of the war segments. If you watch this as an off-brand James Bond movie with Roger Moore, then it is certainly entertaining. See more Steve D @RT35616104 01/27/2024 Fine but should be better with this cast. See more Robert W @RT27667782 07/21/2022 I rewatched this story of one of the most unlikely episodes of WWII aftresh. It does capture a moment in time and may not play that well at a time when as a society we are coming to terms with our colonial past. However, the story is engaging and boasts an impressive ensemble cast. However, it was the location shots I enjoyed the most which wouldn't be possible today and would need to be mocked with CGI. See more andy f @RT81936104 09/27/2020 If you have an interest in the real story of the last military action by a cavalry group in history then watch Lindybeige's epic YouTube documentary on YouTube. The Sea Wolves is an acceptable follow on and it does make some attempt to follow the historical facts. On its own merit - it is truly awful. Roger Moore plays James Bond while Patrick Macnee and others ham things up. Peck is awful and even David Niven disappoints. A contender for one of the worst ww2 dramas but the story deserves to be told. Just head for Lindybeige's first! See more ashley h @ashleyhobgood87 10/15/2017 The Sea Wolves is a decent film. It is about a bunch of retired British officers form a volunteer special operations. Roger Moore and Gregory Peck give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Andrew V. McLaglen did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the action. See more Read all reviews
