The last members of a dying Native American tribe, the Mohicans -- Uncas, his father Chingachgook, and his adopted half-white brother Hawkeye -- live in peace alongside British colonists. But when the daughters of a British colonel are kidnapped by a traitorous scout, Hawkeye and Uncas must rescue them in the crossfire of a gruesome military conflict of which they wanted no part: the French and Indian War.

Certainly one of the great films of all time. Michael Mann pacing, excellent music, great historical tone, well-acted, sweeping, great action sequences and a build up to a climactic ending.

I really love this film. I respect Michael Mann, and the level of detail that he put into the film and the fact that for its time it really captures Native Americans in a more complex and realistic way than past films. It’s a really good action flick too.

فلم جميل جدا. القصة رائعة ومتماسكة و حواراتها الكلامية كانت جيده جدا و حواراتها البصرية كانت ممتازة وتجعلك تعيش اجواء الفلم . اداء الممثلين كان رائع وخصوصا دانيال لقد ابدع في تقمص الشخصية و حضورة قوي . الفلم تقريبا كل الشخصيات متساوية في الظهور و المساحة الاعتمادة عالى الصورة الحوارية اكثر من الحوارات التقليدية (الكلامية) و قد ابدع الممثلين بيصال احزانهم و غضبهم و مشاعرهم من خلال صورة. الاخراج لا ننكر اداء الممثلين عالي لكن الاخراج كان ثقل الفلم الحقيقي المخرج ابدع في سرد احداث الفلم قدم الشخصيات بشكل جيد في بداية الفلم ليتعرف عليها المشاهد ثم بداء برسم الوحات اللفنية و اجواء الفلم الملحمية. التصوير كان جميل جدا تحرك الكامرة بشكل سلس و يجاري الاحداث الاضاءة كانت ممتازة رغم اغلب اجواء الفلم ليلية لكن الاضاءة و الالوان كانت متناسقة و اضهرت الصورة بشكل رائع. الموسيقى جميلة جدا و كانت تخدم المشاهد و اجواء الفلم. بختصار الفلم ملحمة بصرية رائعة مع طاقم ممتاز و اخراج متمكن.
