The last members of a dying Native American tribe, the Mohicans -- Uncas, his father Chingachgook, and his adopted half-white brother Hawkeye -- live in peace alongside British colonists. But when the daughters of a British colonel are kidnapped by a traitorous scout, Hawkeye and Uncas must rescue them in the crossfire of a gruesome military conflict of which they wanted no part: the French and Indian War.

From that iconic opening score to the ending credits, The Last of the Mohicans is a wild ride full of drama, beautiful landscapes, and honed in acting, especially by a brilliant Daniel Day Lewis. I enjoy this movie thoroughly, and its ending monologue is important to remember in today’s age.

Daniel Day Lewis being a stud half Native American badass is all I needed to see. Too bad this movies best scenes are spread out so thin that it makes it feel like 2+ hour movie.

I’m really confused by this movie - there’s extremely little character development and the plotline is rushed and fuzzy at best. Is it a beautiful movie? Yes! Is it a good and well developed story? Not really.
