If you're asking why the guy doesn't just drive to the airport and fly home, you're already too smart to watch this new Vanishing Point. Go to Full Review

The chase scenes, though well done, get a big old... But there's an element of suspense that holds the action-drama together. Go to Full Review

Writer/director Charles Robert Carner revs up the action but eventually runs out of gas, despite a good cast and scenic desert locations. Go to Full Review

While most viewers will likely pine for the trippy existentialism of the original, Charles Robert Carner’s remake of Vanishing Point thrills and grips from the initial key-turn right through to the final climactic crunching of metal and glass. Go to Full Review

Glenn B @Glenn1950 Jan 15 1971 Vanishing Point was a great movie. 1997 Vanishing Point was Hollywood saying we don't have the imagination to think of anything new so let's rip off a classic movie just to make a buck. See more Stephen R @RT22992064 03/15/2023 I really felt this was as good as the original See more delysid d @RT67044741 03/14/2022 what is the point of remaking a classic film that was perfect to begin with? the original is worth 10x this piece of crud. See more 11/28/2020 Well, first off, it's a libertarian's wet dream. Regardless, the script is a mess. Lots of frankly bad "messages," confusedly involving Catholicism, Native American spiritualism, rampant lawlessness, bad choices supposedly based on love, the "boot" of the gov't on the individual's neck, suicide. It's a mess. The messages are conflicting; the actions are frequently not consistent with the messages. The only thing good about it is I got to stare at Viggo Moretensen in his prime for an hour and a half. See more 04/20/2015 rated golden! barely qualifies as a remake because it is so different from the original, but is a decent movie with a spiritual ending.
