laurent b @RT95576478 05/16/2025 One of the greatest horror movies I have seen lately. I love the work that is made on the costume, and the cinematography. The director always finds out how to move his camera to make things interesting and original. The story is very well written, a beautiful script and so is the acting, thanks to the presence of great actors like Patricia Clarkson, Bruce and Emma Campbell and of course Agnes Bruckner who is incredible ! To me The Woods deserves to be a classic. It has so much qualities that you rarely find in horror movies (or even in every movies in general). I strongly advise to watch it, away from a bad or smartphone-disturbed audience... This movie requires you to take attention to it, this is not a pop-corn-movie, but that is just my opinion though... This is not your usual witch affair and contains slow boiling intrigue and great storytelling. The pace is a bit too slow and there is too much emphasis on thriller rather than suspense for my taste. Really nice establishment of period -yes, in terms of costume and set, but also in style - so much reminds us of 60s horror imagery and even early Argento - when we're not going all meangirls!
