When hard times hit Swallow Falls, its townspeople can only afford to eat sardines. Flint Lockwood, a failed inventor, thinks he has the answer to the town's crisis. He builds a machine that converts water into food, and becomes a local hero when tasty treats fall from the sky like rain. But when the machine spins out of control and threatens to bury the whole world under giant mounds of food, Flint finds he may have bitten off more than he can chew.

There are many funny moments and some pleasing suspense towards the end, but as a cautionary tale about the dangers of overeating and obesity it's more likely to boost sales at the candy bar. That may be one good reason for watching it at home. Go to Full Review

Director/writer team Phil Lord and Chris Miller cobble a story around the storybook’s premise but it’s the whimsical imagery of raining hamburgers, a Jell-O mold castle, an ice-cream winter wonderland, and a spaghetti tornado that carries the film. Go to Full Review

Paolo F @XKP-Producer 21h Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is an early work from the creative duo of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. While it doesn't quite reach the brilliance and refinement of their later projects, it already showcases their imagination, energy, and unique sense of humor. The story is fun, colorful, and packed with creative ideas, turning a simple premise into an entertaining adventure filled with memorable moments. The animation may feel a bit dated today, but the film's charm remains intact. Most importantly, it delivers plenty of laughs for both children and adults. Suitable for the whole family, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a lighthearted and enjoyable animated movie that deserves a watch, especially for anyone curious to see the early steps of two filmmakers who would later create some truly outstanding films. See more Chantel B @RT53234342 6d A food horror story. It was gross and so crazy, I will not watch it again. I will most likely never watch the second one. The concept was interesting, but not done right, and it was the worst movie I have ever seen. This heals my inner child. Also.. I love food. Food is beautiful. Food is delicious. This movie raises a serious point, though. It calls out the waste produced by humans. It shows how all this waste leads to a serious problem. Great to teach children about recycling early on! See more Read all reviews
