Two couples head to a secluded desert hideaway for a weekend of relaxation and, unbeknownst to their friends, uneasy revelations. When they arrive, each couple is met by the same eccentric couple, claiming to have booked the rental on the same day at the same time. As two local police officers are drawn into the evening's strange and unpredictable events, depravity and derangement begin to consume everyone at the house. What begins as miscommunication soon descends in mayhem and bloody murder.

The body count may be a foregone conclusion, but the charm is in the journey there. In this respect, 8 Found Dead is an entertaining, if slightly bumpy, ride.

There is enough here to keep audiences watching. There are a few funny moments and some of the forays into full blown horror are a refreshing change of pace. 8 Found Dead can be a little too overbearing at times, but there is some enjoyment to be found.

Proving that there is still a lot more ground movies can cover with the "differing points of view" editing, there is the horror film 8 Found Dead. There's no need to discuss much about the actual story. The title says enough. It's entertaining and interesting. The weaving of the different points of view is well executed. For a slasher/horror flick, it gets about as good a rating as a guy who has seen dozens of these things can give it.

What was the point of any of that? I would love to know what they thought the point was. Flash forwards ruin every detail of the ending and how we get there. The cops have a cursory backstory, and way too much screen time, which adds nothing to an already nothing thing.

Love this film, absolutely unexpected turn of events. I feel like I’ve been there, yet I feel lost and about to die at any moment. Love the time frame match ups. It feels like we’re in the moment, yet unraveling the past with each set of characters in real time. 11/10

Synopsis
