The story and even the characters turn out to be less interesting than the overview it gives us of the way Israelis live now, its portrait of a dislocated society where despair rumbles beneath the surface of everyday life.

no clear indication of links between apparently random stories. if this is a cross-section of israeli life i might rethink making aliya! of course, I know better, given the other amazing pieces of cinema that has come out of that country capturing its essence. this just isn't one of them, despite having its moments.

A series of random stories with no apparent link between them. Crappy players, poor and biased script, etc. Predictible, as Gitai always is. Being an Israeli should be a bore, following Amos indications.
