The logic problem (why aren't they already together? why does she want to take the soulmate test at a young age?) begins at the beginning and it doesn't get better. See more cate M @catherine-m Jul 11 Many complain about the unsatisfying ending or the unlikeable lead actress, but this movie, imo, is not here to act as a syrupy romcom but rather an honest account about real, imperfect people. If offered one's perfect 'soulmate', does one's dysfunctional childhood prevent you from having your happily ever after and the answer is a resounding yes, save for years of intense therapy. I would love to see a sequel where we see how these two either grow from this ending ...or not and the cycle repeats ad nauseum. See more DYKI D @RT68493961 May 16 "All of You" has good chemistry, but the film uses it as a moral hall pass for the affair. She feels guilty, but guilt you mention isn't the same as guilt you live in. The husband and child exist in maybe two scenes, which isn't enough. The actual cost lives in those relationships, and we just don't see it. They connect through nostalgia mostly. Shared jokes, repeated phrases, university references. There's one scene that accidentally shows everything. She's pregnant, scared, and while it's just the two of them she's laughing at his jokes. Her husband walks in and she finally cries. He makes hard things feel lighter, but that's distance with a warm feeling, not intimacy. The film had that scene and moved past it in seconds. Screen time is a judgment call, and this film lingered on the chemistry and rushed through the one moment where she was actually a full human being. The depth was there.
