Katie D 5d my favorite edgar wright film See more victor M @vxminga 4d Great flick . All characters did a great job but baby(ansel edgort) was phenomenal! Won a golden globes nomination, well earned. The opening scene was sensational. The sound track added to the atmosphere of the movie. They only played a few bars from Simon and Garfunkel’s one of my favorite songs from the duo. The song is 50 years old . One of my favorite movies of all time, maybe not in the top 10 but in the top 15. For about a quarter of this film, I was annoyed at how cool and on-point the characters are, especially Baby. And then it hit me: This is not an action film, this is a musical where actors and cars dance, where they sing or listen to music, where sign language is a dance. There is action and talking; it’s all quite stylised: it goes from script to screen with green lights all the way. I did not believe Deborah became a Bonny to Baby’s Clyde in the time and in the way she did; nor did I believe Spacey puppet-master roll belly-flipped for sympathy for Baby in the end given Baby caused his downfall. It is a musical after all: reality swoons and gets high notes, rain and rainbows, baby. Rewatch? No. Recommend? Maybe. 6/10.
