Barron’s Cove can get a little melodramatic in this gripping crime drama about a divorced father who kidnaps a boy suspected of killing his 10-year-old son. However, the principal cast members give riveting performances, which elevate the movie.

A truly emotional story about the merits and sins, love and loss. This is a tale that gets increasingly intense and shocking as the destinies of each character unfolds. Brittany Snow's burst of cries, Stephen Lang's gnashing brute and Garrett Hedlund's portrayal of loss were especial among the sincere work by the cast collectively. Choice of background music was perfect. Flawless visuals and filmmaking continuously reminds us of the extremely dark side of the whole affair. It's a bold story with a heavy involvement of child actors but it actually reminds the viewer of qualities that sets adults and minors apart. As the story head towards a shocking finale, the surprising embrace gives the story more depth and the audience more peace.

2.5 ⭐️ I won’t review specifics, I’ll just say that people go to AAA baseball games, community theater productions, to see bands with a $5 cover, and watch movies like this. And there’s nothing wrong with that. If you do check it out, I’ll let you know it had a quality ending.

Hedlund is a badass in every movie he's been in, and once again he does not disappoint. This is not good guys vs bad guys, but nuanced and complicated leaving you with deep questions.
