The dialogue and acting are top notch with the story itself being so tense and engrossing, it’s hard to look away (except when you HAVE to look away). The violence is typical of Zahler’s work, but even if that isn’t your cup of tea, fight through it for the story. Multiple protagonists, and all of them are likable in their own ways. Excellent archetype story of St. George against a dragon that is an actual dragon. No sympathetic antagonist Hollywood bullshit. A very impressive debut from Zahler - on a shoe-string budget to boot.
