Sam I @SamUSA May 11 I like movies about food and cooking, Mostly Martha was lovely and the American version with Catherine Zeta Jones was OK. 100 ft Journey was OK, but Burnt was predictable and a cliché with shouty chef throwing things about and a take off of Gordon Ramsey. Although I find haute cuisine nouvelle cuisine unappealing with a splot here and there with small portions at a ridiculous price. I do enjoy watching the food being prepared and how a brigade in a kitchen works. In real life so much food in this type of kitchen is wasted. I loved Cooper in Star, but this is not one of his best. The plot is predictable. Having worked with 3-star Michelin chefs/kitchens I can attest to the veracity of their representation herein; the culinary mastery of this picture stands alone as a true winner. Brad Cooper is splendid in his role as a bruised but not broken commodity; his French is excellent, and he inhabits the role with great authenticity, encompassing his bearing, his every movement in the kitchen.
