I normally would avoid any film romance related, however the styling and cast here makes it the best 80s time warp depictions ever. The actors were really top quality for this type of thing and the soundtrack was top quality. It profittted 30 times its production when most of these types of alternative films loose that amount just think about that fact. Who they picked made such a huge difference here this was a likely flop made outrageously compelling by the music, the backdrop and the main actors.

Aside from being one of the most beautiful films in cinematic history, the love between Elio and Oliver is beyond compare. People who condemn the age gap fail to realise that this is not a love story between two straight men. If this movie makes you 'uncomfortable', you are unfortunately looking at it through a heterosexual lens. It is heartbreaking, moving, and very much not about straight people.
