While traveling to California to race The King and Chick Hicks in the Piston Cup Championship, Lightning McQueen falls out of his trailer and winds up in a run-down town called Radiator Springs. He slowly befriends the town's odd residents, including Sally, Doc Hudson and Mater. When it comes time for him to leave, the championship is no longer his top priority.

The Charriots of Fire (1980/81) of animated films alongside WB's Charriots of Fur (1994). It's a pity that was defeated on the Academy Awards by Happy Feet (2006, WB)

Life in the Slow Lane Cars is one of those movies that defines Pixar. It still holds up today, and I love its message that chasing success is great, but sometimes you need to slow down and enjoy the journey. The story is heartfelt, funny, and paced really well. The soundtrack perfectly captures the feel of small town America and gives the movie so much charm. It also made me realize I want a Fast & Furious movie... but with Cars. My biggest criticism is some of the voice acting. Strip Weathers and a few of the racers sound more like athletes reading commercial scripts than fully realized characters. Owen Wilson is good as Lightning McQueen, but Paul Newman and Larry the Cable Guy are the standouts. This is a Pixar classic that I can come back to again and again.

pretty good animated movie. has a lot of cool scenes. cool quotes. all of the characters are memorable and quirky. the idea and design is clever. rewatch is pretty decent despite being an adult.
