Tom and Kate Baker compromise their careers to raise 12 children. Tom coaches a high-school football team, while Kate has retired from journalism to raise the family. Things change when Tom is offered a college coaching job in a new city at the same time a publisher buys Kate's parenting memoir. After moving, Kate goes on a book tour, leaving Tom in charge of the children. The children, already unhappy about relocating, plunge the household into chaos.

Although flawed and far-flung from the original film, Cheaper is still a sweetly saccharine alternative to some of the "heavier" films out there this holiday season, that does have some very funny family moments.

Substantially unbalanced, and not because of the situational embodiment, between the clashing conflicts and tenderness with a tonal shift stemming from the subject’s frivolous approach lacking characterized depth. However, there’s an enjoyable heart that’s filled with warmth as charismatically emitted off the organically bonded cast that makes this a worthwhile family flick, besides occasional hilarity. (B)

It's funny with a good amount of humor in it. The jokes are also good for all ages and the plot not bring bad at all. There does seem to be some problems with the characters with there being SO many its way to hard to keep a track of but still it good.

You really had to be present for Steve Martin and his sense of humor when he was at his career peak in the 90s to appreciate the movie. It’s a feel good, family friendly movie with some actors who later went on to be cast in amazing series or went on to be really big on the pop music scene.
