Mariana T @M.Tezeta 16h It uses a lot of teen rom-com clichés, but Hilary Duff and Jennifer Coolidge stole the show. Without falling into modern excesses, they capture the essence of those characters. The protagonist's friend was also interesting. I know, there's a lot of ridiculousness in including modern elements like texting strangers or them not recognizing Sam at the dance. But again, I can overlook that. I also find the script lighthearted.All the inconsistency works against Austin. They wanted to give him trauma and development, but I didn't like that he stay with Sam after denying himself so many times. It was a total acceptance and the worst part is that he didn't give his ex any explanations. I can't believe there was absolutely no one he could trust. He's a guy who hides his true self, and Sam doesn't: they're not a good match. I would have liked them to end up as friends, because I think he needs to get to know himself much better.
