Stenders and cinematographer Ben Nott stage the battle scenes with impressive hyper-realism, and editor Veronika Jenet's work is, once again, outstanding. Made on location in Queensland, the film feels thoroughly authentic.

Great movie, really moving. Rare to find a Viet Nam film from the Australian perspective, young men thrown into battle and standing up bravely against all odds. Definitely recommend this movie, a hard watch at times but you can feel the love and loyalty these guys had for each other by the end of the film.

While the Vietnam War itself may be problematic this film is excellent at dealing with one battle. In some respects it resembles the British film 'Zulu' with a small group of soldiers facing overwhelming odds and surviving while treating their enemy with respect.
