On a desolate, Midwestern county road, a bound man crawls towards a remote postal box, managing to slide a blood-stained plea-for-help message into the slot before a panicking figure closes in behind him. The note makes its way to the county post office and onto the desk of Jasper, a seasoned and skilled "dead letter" investigator, responsible for investigating lost mail and returning it to its sender. As he investigates further, Jasper meets Trent, a strange yet unassuming man who has taken up residence at the men's home where Jasper lives. When Trent unexpectedly shows up at Jasper's office, it becomes clear he has a vested interest in the note, and will stop at nothing to retrieve it....

La historia es bizarra y roza lo ridículo pero hay que admitir que la mente de un psicópata siempre puede sorprendernos. Si hay algo que decir a favor de esta película es que es original aunque no me termino gustando. Lo visual y la ambientación en los 80 esta bien lograda.

Dead Mail starts out by introducing us to a very intriguing character named Jasper and then descends into some wild conspiracy with other completely uninteresting characters. I think we need a spin-off.

An eerie gem of a flick, flawless in its own low-lit glow. It’s a stylized and stark period piece (of sorts) with a brooding soundtrack. Dissonant innocent-obsessive madness plays slowly and deftly throughout with a dusty air of Lynchian humor. Cool characters, twisty plot, fun final act. Enjoy.

ugh; i caught a few things later which made me think this would probably be an okay movie, but it was sooooo boringggggg i just could not sit still & pay attention. so. i don't really know what happened & honestly, i don't care to find out.

Dead Mail started off with a premise that had me hooked, but somewhere along the line it dropped the envelope and never quite picked it back up. The setup is great, the atmosphere is strong, but the story slipped through my fingers so fast I spent most of the movie trying to catch up… and never did. It is not a bad film, just one that couldn’t keep me invested once it drifted off course. By the time the third act rolled around, I was mentally wandering like undelivered postage: somewhere in limbo, wondering where this was all supposed to end up. Interesting idea, uneven delivery

An interesting premise, but it gets a bit bogged down. Also, marketed as a horror movie, but really, at heart it’s a thriller. Not a waste of time, but my expectations were higher than the payoff.
