In the year 2000, America is a totalitarian regime on the brink of collapse. The most popular sport in this dystopia is the Transcontinental Road Race, where teams earn points for logging the fastest time and for mowing over the most innocent pedestrians in the process. This year's competitors include Frankenstein (David Carradine), who is rumored to be more machine than man, and the tough-as-nails "Machine Gun" Joe Viterbo (Sylvester Stallone). Some have a plan to stop the race.

I don't get the high rating. THe characters are one dimensional, the script and acting is ridiculously bad. After a few minutes, yeah, I get it. But then it just keeps going with ore of the stupid same.

After watching Death Race 2000, this is one of the classic movies of the 60's and 70's. The movie was filmed on a somewhat low budget, and you can see that in the designs and special effects; overall seemed like a good movie.

This film did have things in it that definitely weren't positive or happy to think about, which is people being ran over so that the people racing could get points. That being said it did keep me entertained and the main character Frankenstein trying to target the corrupt President was very entertaining. A sick game was made into something entertaining which I was able to appreciate while watching.

I was curious to see what the movie was about, but to be honest, I am just disappointed. I did find it shocking that in order to gain more points, they had to run over pedestrians, but still, the plot was not for me, and I wouldn't recommend it.
