In the year 2000, America is a totalitarian regime on the brink of collapse. The most popular sport in this dystopia is the Transcontinental Road Race, where teams earn points for logging the fastest time and for mowing over the most innocent pedestrians in the process. This year's competitors include Frankenstein (David Carradine), who is rumored to be more machine than man, and the tough-as-nails "Machine Gun" Joe Viterbo (Sylvester Stallone). Some have a plan to stop the race.

A lot of flaws but a fun freaking movie. My favorite part about watching movies from the 70s is that nobody took themselves too seriously in regards to being defensive about everything. This is just pure crazy fun!

Death Race 2000 is a wild, low-budget action movie set in a strange future where drivers compete in a cross-country race and score points by running people over. The story is simple, but the movie stands out because of its dark humor and over-the-top violence. David Carradine plays the calm and mysterious Frankenstein, while Sylvester Stallone adds energy as his loud rival. The acting isn’t amazing, but it fits the campy tone. The movie mixes satire with action, poking fun at media, politics, and society’s love of violence. The effects are cheesy by today’s standards, but that’s part of its charm. Overall, *Death Race 2000* is a cult classic—strange, funny, and entertaining if you enjoy campy 1970s sci-fi action.

death race is an interesting movie, the idea of death being part of some "party game" gives off an abnormal vibe to the plot. the idea of a dystopian world with little to no laws and many acts of violence with the main protagonist fighting against the world was born from this movie. it's not a bad movie. -elias miguel
