The story kicks off when a group of strangers attends a mysterious movie premiere, only to find themselves trapped in a theater as demonic infections turn audience members into bloodthirsty monsters. If you’re after heaps of fake blood, delightfully over-the-top acting, and every wonderfully cheesy 80s trope, this is your film. Fans of Braindead, Re-Animator, and Basket Case will love the violence, chaotic gore and pulpy fun—horror that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but delivers maximum thrills. I said in an earlier review that Suspiria was his best film… no, THIS is, in my personal opinion, of course. The practical effects in this are amazing, and the creativity on this one is superb. Of course, this is a “bad” movie, but it embraces it perfectly to make this an extremely entertaining watch, and the effects make up for any lack in English dubbing in some parts. This is like a monster mash up of From Dusk Til Dawn and Night of the Living Dead. On my PERSONAL scale, definitely a 4/5. EXACTLY what I’m looking for when I want something campy. This is a 4/5 on the camp scale. Overall, I’d have to give it a 2.5 when comparing to like…. The Godfather. See more Read all reviews
