Iain M @Flaneur May 12 I was really blown away by this thoughtful, funny and tender movie which uses the zombie apocalypse as a Covid-metaphor and explores the coping mechanisms, transference and displacement strategies humans will employ to avoid looking at reality and screaming with horror. This is such a warm, funny slice of humanism, delightfully directed and perfectly acted by everyone. I'm not a zombie guy, and I appreciate that some of you guys are just here to see people having their faces bitten off in really disturbing splatter-vision, but for anyone who fancies something a little more subtle and magical, I can't recommend this too highly. While it has its share of thrills, this is a character-driven film that focuses on how ordinary people adapt to their world changing. It is both humorous and poignant, and the acting is excellent. Most of the movie is filmed in black and white, which provides an eerie quality and contributes to the artistry of the amazing cinematography. Can’t wait to see more films from Director Meera Menon!
