A scientist (Vincent Price) builds an animated human being -- the gentle Edward (Johnny Depp). The scientist dies before he can finish assembling Edward, though, leaving the young man with a freakish appearance accentuated by the scissor blades he has instead of hands. Loving suburban saleswoman Peg (Dianne Wiest) discovers Edward and takes him home, where he falls for Peg's teen daughter (Winona Ryder). However, despite his kindness and artistic talent, Edward's hands make him an outcast.

At this point it's pretty much a classic. I recently rewatched with my kids and they loved it. Sure, it's fantastical but ultimately it's a story that reveals more about humanity than it may seem at first. Highly recommend!

If you go for the one note that this plays, then (be my guest). I was underwhelmed, sorry. There is a German? fairytale, about a child who cuts people's fingers off ... Struwwelpeter; there is Hilaire Belloc- this, is like someone dressed up as one of their characters , for a halloween party, but doesn't know anything about story, sorry.

Plot: autistic catboy is brought to a Normieville where all the worst people live. Almost everyone is horrible except for Edward himself. Beautiful music. Good ragebait material because many characters do something evil or harmful right in front of you and only 1 of them gets punished for it. Gothic fairytale

Synopsis
