On assignment from her editor, photographer Friday Foster (Pam Grier) travels to an airport to capture a few shots of the richest black man in the United States (Thalmus Rasulala). But it turns out Foster isn't the only one taking shots as she witnesses -- and photographs -- an assassination attempt on her subject. With definitive evidence in her possession, she also becomes a target of the assassins. Joining a private eye (Yaphet Kotto), Foster sets out to discover the truth behind the attempt.

The character's not as iconic as Foxy Brown, and yet Friday is Grier's best role from this era, because it gives her the most notes to play.

Though it's always interesting to explore these vintage Blaxploitation titles, if mostly for the deliberate depiction of empowerment mixed with demeaning stereotypes, Friday Foster is really enjoyable only for fans of Pam Grier and Eartha Kitt.

Tolle Bilder, schwache Story mit noch schwächeren Dialogen. Viel Gewalt, wers mag wird hier fündig. Muss man nicht gesehen haben. Kein Vergleich mit Jackie Brown.

60% rating ... Not as iconic as Pam Grier's Foxy Brown, but Friday Foster delivers in a decent, yet slightly over-the-top way. Give it a watch if you're a Pam Grier fan.

Creative on the social message of Blackxpiotation films. Pam Grier is another iconic casting for a comic strip and pulpy adaptation of Friday Foster. Has replay ability, and a catchy song to go with it. I've had limited knowledge of the existence of the comic strip it was based on, but glad I saw Friday Foster.

This is an overlooked Blaxploitation classic. The cast, the story and the action are all perfect. But it's not totally perfect though. There are a couple really unlikable characters and it does drag at points. But overall, it's a classic and more need to see this classic of the Blaxploitation era.

Now this is more my speed. It may not be the best example of the genre, nor her most iconic character, but it's super engaging thanks to how much fun Pam Grier is clearly having. Not to mention how much more range she's granted to explore.
