Brash space adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits: gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, treelike-humanoid Groot, enigmatic Gamora, and vengeance-driven Drax the Destroyer. For much of its 122 minutes, Gunn's grab-bag of quirky characters, genre ribbing, and incongruent '70s pop tunes goes over like gangbusters. The trouble is, it's only irreverent to a point.

What a wonderful way to end The original Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy! A roller coaster of emotions throughout. The first 2 movies are some of my favorite Marvel movies to date. The 3rd one was great as well! Well done Marvel!

The IMAX trilogy was an absolute blast of an experience... The large-scale spaceship battles will never feel the same for me outside this format. Vol. 2 still has the most laugh-out-loud moments by far, but Vol 3 cruises through the middle sweet spot of balance. Makeup and VFX held up incredible on IMAX view! Was great to see how everyone in the theater left with so much gratitude and satisfaction upon the conclusion of this Trilogy. James Gunn made these characters feel so authentic and memorable - I'll sure miss this version of Drax and Mantis. I was also very happy to see Gunn embrace some of the visual style from the Video Game of last year - particular the set design for Orgoscope and the High Evolutionary's vessel.
