Johnzo F @Johnzo May 17 Having recently seen this great flick on the big screen and followed with Q&A from the director, PTA and David Ansen, I realized how much great movies such as this one are so missed today. This movie is perfect mid 90’s update on 1940’s noir. The casting was perfect and the story line evokes a feeling with almost spiritual overtones. What a fantastic take off for one of the most masterful directors of American cinema today. Perhaps it was the writing but otherwise the performances of the supporting cast was less than outstanding, especially Reilly who is miscast here. It hardly had any music, which made it seem strange for some reason. It was a little short as well. It should have been titled "Coffee and Cigarettes". That would have been a better title. It was interesting though, and it really does feel like a debut film. It was ok.
