From Academy Award® nominated director Jan Komasa, HEEL is a twisted thriller that follows 19-year-old hooligan Tommy (Anson Boon), who revels in a life of drugs, parties, and violence. One night, on a bender with his reckless friends, he becomes separated from the group and is abducted by an unknown figure (Golden Globe® winner Stephen Graham). Though he is no stranger to inflicting violence, he is enraged and horrified when he wakes to find himself chained in the basement of the isolated suburban family home of Chris (Graham), his wife Kathryn (Academy Award® nominee Andrea Riseborough), and their young son Jonathan (Kit Rakusen). The family sets out to reform Tommy's unruly behavior, forcing him to comply with their relentless mind games or seek escape at any cost.

The characters are intriguing and the story raises thought-provoking questions about morality, but based on the initial setup I expected the story to escalate or become more unhinged. The most surprising thing about it for me was how tame it was.

An intense psychological thriller that completely pulled me in. Stephen Graham is phenomenal, delivering a performance that's both terrifying and emotionally layered. The film is tense, disturbing, and constantly keeps you questioning everyone's motives. It’s uncomfortable in all the right ways, with a gripping story that sticks with you long after it ends.

Wasted 1.5 hrs on this .l adore stephen and watch everything hes done . Id have turned this down at the stage he is at in his career it seemed like a backward step. He has done many great things and played great parts but this was neither here nor there , didnt really make any sense or give any idea what it was supposed to be about . A very 1980s kind of thing not impressed it was hyped up but for why l just dont know . Sorry stephen keep on keeping on . You are greatly admired, a national treasure regardless of the scripts you accept .

Heel is a complex, twisted, and thought-provoking psychological thriller. Instead of a basic torture narrative, the movie subverts genre tropes and takes a dark and deeply unsettling approach to its plot and characters. Surprisingly, it works and makes for a satisfyingly unexpected experience.

SG can do no wrong! As we've seen times before this, he plays 'Dad-with-issues' very well. The psychological bent to this story is masterfully delivered by director and actor alike, with SG and AR working so well together in making it real. It's a FUBAR story, and one that AB also rises to... his character eventually being bent to the warped regime-come-rehab

It starts out wonderfully bizarre. Unfortunately, it turns rather conventional about halfway through, but I still enjoyed it enough to recommend. Plus, Stephen Graham turns in another good performance. Man, that guy is versatile. He can play psychos and milquetoast men equally well.
