Rae and Buchanan have chemistry, and even if his character's conversion into a hottie is as identically silly as Cook's was in the original... I did find myself wanting to see the couple end up together.

As a remake, we’re already familiar with the plot of the story, but the “makeover/win someone over as a bet but then actually fall for them” trope is something we’ve already seen, and it’s been done better.

So I stayed away from this movie because of all the memes. However, I have to say… I love it. Yes it’s cringy, and maybe played out in the ugly duckling plot, but I love that in my movies. It’s just as played out and "cringe" as the 2000s and 90s movies, which is exactly why I like it. No there is not a lot of depth, but I don’t watch movies and expect nor do I want, peak abstract cinema every time. Everyone likes some good teen fluff stuff from time to time. That’s why movies like this keep getting made for people who enjoy sweet cliques. That would be me.

I loved this movie although I’ve never seen the original she’s all that but this movie was amazing there were a few scenes that I was not fond of and I am usually very tough on movies like this and only like a few rom coms they chose great actors for this. I thought it was kinda weird seeing Addison Rae be in a movie but great overall.
