The result isn't very funny, and its sexual politics are as muddled as you'd expect, but Faris is sweet and likable as the sort of wise dumbbell Judy Holliday used to play.

The ending is predictably feel-good - if it takes way too long coming - but the female-penned script keeps you perky with some surprisingly surreal flashes... such as: 'The eyes are like the nipples of the face.'

Personally, I don’t think Hugh Hefner ever topped his cameo in the Roman Empire segment of Mel Brooks’ History of the World: Part I, but he does enjoy more screen time in The House Bunny.

Anna Faris, Emma Stone, Kat Dennings, and Colin Hanks star in this film where a woman in her late 20s has to leave a world of pink bubble-wrapped luxury and find a real job. Through a series of misunderstandings, she becomes the housemother of the worst performing sorority house on a college campus. Zeta House, somewhere between Lambda House from Revenge of the Nerds and the Island of Misfit Toys, is full of girls who do not fit in with stereotypes of femininity or the outrageous wealth of their classmates in the other sororities. She teaches the girls that how to be beautiful and feminine so that they can keep their sorority house open with more pledges, and they teach her the value of being herself despite her self-doubt after losing her lifestyle. Is it perfect? No. Is it a Happy Madison film with a good cast and full of genuine heart? Yes.

Anyone giving a serious rating to this movie is a criminal, it is clearly a well done trashy comedy, if you love Anna Faris you'll love this movie
