Tameka L @RT10956708 04/03/2024 At first I thought the characters were socially awkward but it turns out the actors just weren't very good. It's all over the place and not in a cool way. After numerous times of dozing off and starting over it was an enormous disappointment to view in its entirety. I'm all for abstract and misdirection but this movie just doesn't do it for me. This movie screams low budget and unfortunately they should have paid for some help. The casting was weird. The sets were dry. The graphics were laughable. The story seemed like it could have the potential to be a great one but it needed some work. I give them a C for effort and completion of a project. Hopefully the next will be a drastic improvement. See more 04/08/2018 I am disappointed that they didn't stick with the original title - Trip House. I must confess that I only purchased the movie because I heard that a former Buffy Actress (Amber Benson) was involved. There are a few technical issues, ie poor lighting in the start of the movie (you could hardly see the actors faces) but the real issue is that there too many parts and they didn't all work together (domestic relationship drama / cult horror movie / friends re-union) See more 03/09/2018 I recognise a decent number of the faces in House of Demons, but these faces are not the faces of actors... I'm not even saying that to be rude, I mean they literally aren't professional actors, as in, they have jobs and those jobs lie outside of the realm of acting. It was quite the experience to sit down to watch my dodgy horror movie for the night and realise "Oh damn, that's classic schmoe Tiffany Smith!" and so on. Even with that aside, House of Demons was not the typical dodgy horror I was expecting. It's actually got a fair bit of originality, and is really more of a psychedelic moral exploration than the straight up cabin in the woods/haunted house movie I thought I was in store for.
