HUNTER HUNTER follows a family living in the remote wilderness earning a living as fur trappers. Joseph Mersault (Devon Sawa), his wife Anne (Camille Sullivan), and their daughter Renée (Summer H. Howell) struggle to make ends meet and think their traps are being hunted by the return of a rogue wolf. Determined to catch the predator in the act, Joseph leaves his family behind to track the wolf. Anne and Renée grow increasingly anxious during Joseph’s prolonged absence and struggle to survive without him. When they hear a strange noise outside their cabin, Anne hopes it is Joseph but instead finds a man named Lou (Nick Stahl), who has been severely injured and left for dead. The longer Lou stays and Joseph is away, the more paranoid Anne becomes, and the idea of a mysterious predator in the woods slowly becomes a threat much closer to home.

I went in thinking ok its free, so I will give it a try. Surprised me that it kept me interested the whole time, some areas might have slowed down but not for long. Unique story and I see why it was defined as a horror, not a fan of most horrors but I liked this one.

Looks like I am a rare viewer who did not appreciate this movie. It’s well made, well acted, gripping, and engaging story, until the last 20 minutes where it goes seriously off the rails. Be warned, it’s not the movie you think it is, for better or worse.

It’s different than its horror/thriller contemporaries . The movie does a great job of setting up the plot twist and when happens it’s fast and furious from then on. Trigger warning The ending is brutal and not for those who are sensitive to gory scenes. For those who can and do watch this film it’s worth it.

A pretty good flick of which I had never heard of before today. It starts off a bit slow, but then brings together various story threads to build up into an incredibly macabre crescendo. A bit heavy stuff at the end for the fainthearted, but all in all really cool for a low-budget movie. 7/10 points!

This was a fun movie. The ending is phenomenal. However, it lacks character development altogether. If it had that, it would have been flawless. Also, I didn’t even recognize Devon Sawa!
