I Am Legend is an interesting post-apocalyptic film that works mainly because of Will Smith’s strong performance as the lone survivor in a deserted New York City. He carries a lot of the film on his own, and his character’s isolation is genuinely compelling for most of the runtime. The atmosphere is one of the movie’s biggest strengths, with empty city streets and a quiet, eerie tone that really sells the idea of a world left behind. There are also a few tense moments involving the infected that help keep the story engaging. That said, the film is fairly straightforward and doesn’t fully explore all the deeper ideas it hints at. The pacing dips a bit in the middle, and the ending feels a little rushed compared to the buildup. Overall, it’s a solid, watchable sci-fi drama with strong lead acting and a memorable setting, but it stays in "good film" territory rather than becoming something truly exceptional. A 7/10.
