After carefree teenager Jay (Maika Monroe) sleeps with her new boyfriend, Hugh (Jake Weary), for the first time, she learns that she is the latest recipient of a fatal curse that is passed from victim to victim via sexual intercourse. Death, Jay learns, will creep inexorably toward her as either a friend or a stranger. Jay's friends don't believe her seemingly paranoid ravings, until they too begin to see the phantom assassins and band together to help her flee or defend herself.

It Follows feels like a new thing in horror. It feels like a movement toward the conceptual idea of what drives horror. Strip down the overburdened tropes and monsters that make up what horror was for decades, and leave just the essentials.

The concept and the idea behind of the movie is pretty great. Throughout the whole movie we feel paranoid with the characters and the feeling is there, but towards the end it looses the essence of it and the ending gives us uncertainty of what it actually means. It was good until the bad ending.

Let’s be clear: the film has good cinematography and some excellent long takes that maintain a more than decent level of tension throughout. But we can’t ignore its flaws. The editing is terrible, there are ridiculous scenes like the pool sequence, and, aside from the lead actress, several of the supporting performances are weak. Time is ultimately delivering the verdict on whether the director was truly talented or simply overrated.

THIS MOVIE IS THE WORST THING THE HUMAN RACE HAS EVER ABLE TO DO. THE ONLY IMPORTANT THING IN THIS FILM IS THE WHITE CLOTHES, THE INCEST AND THE WOMAN PISSING HERSELF. BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE LOOKS LIKE TOXICIN GETTING INTO YOUR BRAIN, LIKE SEEING BRAINROT AT 3 AM. PLEASE RUN FROM THIS MOVIE. I want to sue whoever did this shit.
