Lindy is a beautiful, sardonically-funny woman with a painful secret: Due to a lifelong, rare neurological disorder, she experiences sporadic rage-filled, murderous impulses that can only be stopped when she shocks herself with a special electrode device. Unable to find love and connection in a world that fears her bizarre condition, she finally trusts a man long enough to fall in love, only to find him murdered the next day. Heartbroken and enraged, she embarks on a revenge-filled mission to find his killer, while also being pursued by the police as the crime’s prime suspect.

Like fun, wacky action comedies? Give it a shot. Are you a woman whose hormones have pushed your anger levels into a realm where you feel you can't control them? This film might speak to you - as it did to me - in surprising ways.

"Jolt" isn't prestige cinema, but it is far smarter than its exploitation trappings. Wexler and Beckinsale truly make a meal of the gender flip that is sending a woman to wreak bloody havoc in revenge for the murder of a sweet, nerdy hunk.

It started as a decent promise. The story line made no sense. Beckinsale deserved better for her abilities. Not much bang for a name like jolt. Maybe the sequel will actually have a jolt.

Jolt (2021) This movie had a really interesting central story, but the script is terrible and failed to deliver what we really wanted to see. The protagonist is really cool, but the action sequences are quite weak.

I see this was supposed to have a sequel. Guess we'll see. It wasn't bad. I mean this script was absolute ____, but the fight scenes were tops. Also loved that they left Kate with her natural accent. All things considered, I wouldn't hate a sequel after all.

Watchable, funny at times, a bit OTT with the action making it unbelievable. Feels a bit like a whole bunch of cut scenes from a video game more than a film. Liked the way it's it's lit but not the vehicle choices... British style fire truck next to a NYPD car...nope!

I enjoyed it, but parts felt dragged out a bit. Certain scenes made me chuckle, genuinely funny, but the plot twist at the end... totally unexpected. It's a great choice as a flick to switch off and watch.

Some good lines, bordering on memorable lines. Good cast, the standouts are Tucci and Beckinsale. Patchy script, when it's tight and witty its good, then the action starts and the script is...errr...perfunctory. Sharp editing, fair direction. An entertaining darkly comic romp - which is what the film makers set out to make!
