After 19 years as a prisoner, Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) is freed by Javert (Russell Crowe), the officer in charge of the prison workforce. Valjean promptly breaks parole but later uses money from stolen silver to reinvent himself as a mayor and factory owner. Javert vows to bring Valjean back to prison. Eight years later, Valjean becomes the guardian of a child named Cosette after her mother's (Anne Hathaway) death, but Javert's relentless pursuit means that peace will be a long time coming.

It's just so soaringly monotonous... And although hard-core fans will love this whatever, and good luck to them, I'd rather set fire to my own hair than ever have to sit through it again. It would be over quicker, at least.

Aside from all the handheld shots and absence of wide shots for such a grand production, quite good. Way too much hate for Rusty. He was a good contrast to the Jacked Man.

I love the songs. Enjolras was my favorite because he is majestic and so is his voice. However, I did not think Russell Crowe was a good choice for Javert because of his voice; he is very flat and I don't find him to be very talented. It ruined songs that I would have found good. Love the story and also love Master of the House, Red and Black, and I Dreamed a Dream.
