The 4K presentation showed off the sets and costumes beautifully. But the real star is the dialogue, especially when spoken by Kate Beckinsale. See more Kevin O @Prospero212 Jun 13 Yes, it's a talky period piece based on Austin, and if you don't like those, you won't like this. But oh my, it is the best of the genre! Wickedly clever and so much fun. Kate Bekinsale is such a fiend, but she's so luminous you can't help but root for her. The screenplay is great- you need to follow every word, because the wit will blow right past you as Kate says the meanest things in the most polite way. --So many of the characters are a riot, but especially Sir James. That dude's acting choices were amazingly funny, and the screenplay really have him room to okay with it. --Even the details- watch the servants in the background, they are so done. And the scene in the end, when the carriage pulls up and it bumps into someone, and they have a tiff at the left frame while the camera focuses on the actors in the center right. That didn't need to be there, but I love that it was. --Excellent, fun film. Beautifully filmed, moves quick, great cast who seemed to have a lot of fun. See more Alain E @AlainE Aug 28 Booring!
