NerdCall T @nerdcall Jul 23 Marsupilami feels less like an attempt to revitalize the character and more like a La Bande à Fifi movie with a yellow creature thrown into the mix. The problem isn’t even that it’s silly or over-the-top, but rather that it fails to strike a balance between physical comedy, family adventure, and Marsupilami himself—who should be the heart of the story. Everything feels too rushed. The family storyline fails to move the audience; the characters seem to exist more to deliver jokes than to build any kind of relationship; and the humor rarely goes beyond facial expressions, screams, and haphazard references. Marsupilami, who could have been a source of fun and warmth, ends up feeling strange, artificial, and poorly integrated into the film. It lacks charm, it lacks personality, and it lacks a stronger reason for this comeback to exist. What remains is the feeling of a character full of potential being used merely as an excuse to repeat a comedic formula that already feels tired here.
