After losing nearly all of an inheritance to taxes, sisters Kay (Betty Grable) and Barbara Latimer (Carole Landis), waitresses at a drive-in restaurant in Texas, scheme to find rich husbands. With the aid of their aunt Susan, the sisters take the last of their money and head to a well-known Miami resort where they soon meet two wealthy young men, Phil (Don Ameche) and Jeff (Robert Cummings), who begin a fierce rivalry for Kay, not realizing that Barbara has fallen in love with one of them.

See more Lon C @RT27652192 12/20/2024 Betty Grable is my favorite musical-comedy star of the Golden Age of Movies. And Moon Over Miami is one of my top 5 Grable pictures. I own it on DVD and watch it once a year. Even though there were very few Technicolor movies during World War II because color film was a scarce commodity during the war, 20th Century Fox went to the added expense of making sure that most of Grable's musicals were shot in Technicolor. Her peaches & cream complexion and ruby red lips were stunning in color, and the studio knew what an excellent money-maker they had. After Moon Over Miami she remained on Quigley's Top 10 Box Office List for 10 consecutive years from 1942 to 1951.
