Conceived six years ago, Michel Franco's near-future dystopia feels ripped from headlines that haven't yet been written. While protests rage in the streets, Marianne's high society family prepares for her wedding. At first, only splatters of green paint and the appearance of Rolando, a former employee seeking emergency medical funds, intrude on the festivities. But soon the party is unable to keep the reckoning at bay, and what follows is a swift disintegration of law and order defined first by class lines, then by disastrous government recapitulation.

There are no sympathetic or redeeming characters, the politics is very muddled and any message it wishes to convey is drowned out by the violence. New Order is a short, sharp shock to the system. Albeit a deeply unpleasant one with no redeeming features.

wow. I haven't read any of the reviews or commentary of the film as I want to share my unique thoughts. This movie disturbed me more than any other film I've seen, in a good way. Everything that has happened in America in the past few years this movie is a cautionary tale to say the least.

Political criticism delivered with unrelenting brutality. Begins slow and ends with "wtf did i just watch?" impression. Nice movie for date night.

Horrible movie. It is realistic with a sadistic touch. It was our first time in a movie theatre after one year and a half and it felt horrible. Don’t recommend. Wanted to throw up afterwards.
