Mild-mannered Norbit (Eddie Murphy) has always had it rough, since the day he was left abandoned at a combination Chinese restaurant and orphanage. Recently forced to marry the shrewish glutton Rasputia, he is at wit's end. A very underrated Eddie Murphy comedy movie. Rasputia Latimore is one of the best characters in a Murphy film. His comedic timing and ability to voice these different characters is just amazing. The body suits and makeup are top tier. The way he plays multiple characters on screen at the same time just shows how talented he is. Tim Treakle

This movie is funny, entertaining, and hilariously unpredictable. While it may be somewhat outdated and biased, it was also made in 2007, and it is also a comedy. It’s not supposed to be taken seriously. The slapstick comedy is funny and enjoyable, and the scenes take audiences for a wild ride! Eddie Murphy’s brilliant portrayal of three different characters (the shy and nerdy Norbit, the loud and aggressive Rasputia, and the older Mr. Wong) is very impressive. The makeup in this film is phenomenal; I actually didn’t know that Mr. Wong was Eddie Murphy until after I looked up the cast! It’s difficult enough to play two characters in the same movie, but three is stunning. Overall, this movie is far from a masterpiece, but it’s not supposed to be one. It is an enjoyable and funny film that will make you laugh and roll your eyes. Would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a lighthearted, slapstick, feel-good comedy.
