Par H @Parhwy Feb 23 If I had to relive a day over and over again and again I would watch Palm Springs with Cristin Milioti and Andy Samberg, as long as Roy kept his distance. I jest. I have watched this film too, too many times. Y'know, any film can be a Rorschach, a litmus, a palimpsest. This film is my "I am lonely and drinking every day" film. Just like The Martian was my "Covid lockdown" film. Just like... 17 other films I watch on repeat repeat to cauterise a psychology I cannot exorcise. Films are cheaper than actual psychologists. Just saying. All great films are a mirror to the soul. It's a love story with a twist. Some scenes are unnecessary (midpoint montage). I do like that Sarah goes full Einstein and is our hero (spoiler alert). As an Aussie, I always find the Aussie celebrant weird as hell. Like, how? He even uses Australianisms. It disorients me, what must it be like for non-Australians. Rewatch? I really need to stop drinking, stop being lonely. If you haven’t watched it? Do: it’s fun.
