An action-packed thriller where five ballerinas, on their way to a prestigious dance competition, are barely on speaking terms when their bus breaks down in a remote forest. With no other options, they reluctantly seek shelter at an unsettling roadside inn run by Devora Kasimer (Uma Thurman), a reclusive former ballet prodigy. From the moment they arrive, something feels wrong—and their worst instincts prove right. As the situation turns deadly, the fractured team must set aside rivalries and weaponize years of brutal training, turning grace, discipline, and even pointe shoes into tools for survival.

Critics Consensus

Starting off with a fun hook and diluting it with a plethora of clichés, Pretty Lethal doesn't reach its full operatic potential but doles out enough balletic action to remain reasonably en pointe.

While I’m reluctant to credit a film like “Pretty Lethal” with moving this exhausted horror subgenre away from its threadbare formula, it’s a twirl in the right direction. Go to Full Review

Nothing here is to be taken very seriously at all but it is mostly devoid of the suffocating, and often nihilistic, smugness one has come to expect from modern action films. Go to Full Review

Despite the constant mayhem, Pretty Lethal brings little that’s new to the dance floor. Go to Full Review

Mostly, it’s just a whimper of a movie that ends in painfully anticlimactic fashion. Its only saving grace is that my daughters got a nice crash course in a so-bad-it’s-sometimes-good-but-still-mostly-bad movie. Go to Full Review

Not only does the film fail to live up to its premise outside of a single action sequence, it’s an ugly film that wastes Uma Thurman and sidelines the great Millicent Simmonds away in a room for a lengthy portion. Go to Full Review

Pretty Lethal takes too long to get going, and even then, it has trouble maintaining energy. At least it does a very good job of giving Maddie Ziegler a calling card for more action roles should she wish to go down that road. Go to Full Review

Alexandru G @AlexGreg 3h Entertaining, better than Ballerina, nice main characters, goofy but still, loved it. See more Becca Y @ChefBecs 11h I made an account just to write this review. Absolutely loved this movie. I guarantee lower ratings are coming strictly from dudes - even positive ones are accompanied with "reluctance". Solid female cast, Uma Thurman's villain character is dynamic and relatable, lots of action, some gore, and just enough campiness/silliness to keep it light. See more R C @Ap90033 11h Theleading lady with the nose ring who is very average looking at best please let her know she looks ugly af with the nose ring. Cattle is what comes to mind with that ring. See more John A @RT43277329 16h I really enjoyed this movie. Similar to movies like You're Next and No On Lives, it's a movie about the bad guys not realizing what they just unleashed. Definitely not a movie to be taken seriously, but refreshingly unique in the fight scenes and action sequences. The characters are over the top exaggerations but it's still enjoyable for what it is. By no means is this thing ever winning an Oscar, but for parking yourself on the couch for an hour and a half and having some fun, it's well worth the view. My main complaint is that it needed more Uma Thurman. See more Tibor R @RT16245322 21h This movie reminds me of the ones made in the 80's for VHS only. It's not even B-list, but a "WTF was that"-list. A total waste of money. And why was Hungary depicted as some remote area in the USSR in the 60's? Why had the "Hungarian" villains Russian/Slavic names like, Yuri, Ossip, etc...? And i never saw "ballet" dancers with that body type. Yes, the movie was stuffed with bloody scenes but for a comedy it wasn't funny enough. There are plenty of trash movies which was fun to watch. But this was like a torture. Some reviewers wrote it will become a cult movie. For me it was less than forgettable. See more Ornella D @RT55642573 22h It’s a light movie, I thought it funny and grotesque. I actually enjoyed it.
