Blake- N @PBSAniDom 19h [REC] 3: Genesis feels like a noticeable step down from its predecessors. It shifts away from the raw found-footage tension that made the earlier films effective, resulting in a more conventional horror experience that never fully clicks. While there are moments of gore and some unsettling imagery that make it more disturbing than expected, they don't really make up for the weaker story and uneven tone. The change in style may work for some viewers, but it often feels disconnected from what came before. The pacing is inconsistent and the characters are not very engaging, which makes it difficult to stay fully invested. Overall, it’s a mediocre sequel that has flashes of horror but lacks the intensity and impact of the earlier entries. I’d give it a 4/10. It's unfortunate that they threw away the found-footage concept when the previous movies were all found-footage films.
