E H M @RT58509190 4d Robin’s Wish is a beautifully crafted reflection and celebration of Robin Williams’s work, life, and friendships. It paints a thorough and empathetic picture of his final days and the neuroscience behind his decline whilst suffering from Dementia with Lewy Bodies. There is a jarring clash between what the Specialists said and what his wife Susan said. The medical specialists highlighted that his psychological demise and ultimate suicide were the direct result of his neurological disease, that psychiatry and neurology are one and the same, his behaviour (suicide) was a direct result of what part of his brain was affected, and that people should no longer judge behaviour based on morals, but psychological illness as a disease like any other. Susan mentioned multiple times that Robin wasn’t depressed, that he would never choose to suicide. Robin had depression from DLB. It’s all the same neurochemistry. Susan missed a great opportunity to de-stigmatise mental illness. What a pity. See more Andrew K @RT40967692 12/18/2023 When people who make things we like or love (things that reach us) pass away it's very sad. Moreso when they're taken seemingly too soon. When Robin Williams passed away I felt genuine grief in a way I hadn't experienced before. I still miss him and I never knew him. I am just one of millions of fans. So many of whom he reached in some of the most genuine ways with his art as well as just the kindness and authenticity of who he was. It is heartbreaking to hear everything he and the people who love him went through. In part, personally, because I was the primary caregiver for my father who just passed away a few months ago. But I am glad to know the truth of what he actually endured. As well as to see the celebration of his life by some of the people who knew him best. A picture of him still hangs in my office. Right next to my desk. I put it up the day he died. I wish he were still here. I will never forget him. See more Kyle M @RT77296778 10/23/2022 While Robin Williams' previous documentary chronicles his life with expected emotional punch between laughter and sadness, this one titularly details his unspoken wish caught on and motivated by his widow from his declining days till his unfortunate turn of event. A complete 180 across multiple points between the two documentaries that reverses the emotionally balanced impacts, turning this respectfully, saddeningly blunt, well-focused framework of an untold story that realistically, as needed, completed one's true profile to more humane than just a gifted comic via cherished memories. The insightful, eye-opening effect proves to be haunting, and capable to haunt a viewer lingeringly in one point or another while gladly essentially spread informally. (A-) See more isla s @RT89656869 09/03/2022 This is understandably a sad and sobering watch but I felt it was well made - informative, respectful and it features numerous clips of Robin's comic routines and clips of him in films. It features people who knew him well, including his widow, speaking about their memories of him. It also features healthcare professionals talking about lewy body dementia, which is what Robin had (without knowing at the time). It's an insightful documentary film which I would recommend, yes. I think it helps fill in the blanks where some of us might have missed crucial information about his disease. Quality interviews and information from people close to Robin was the best part. See more 04/26/2021 Awesome! Robin's Wish covered every bit of Robin's end of life years... which have not been reflected in any of the earlier documentaries on Robin's life. Tylor Norwood is a brilliant cinematographer, director and Robin's Wish speaks to his brilliance in the details...the storyline, the doctors' views on the syndrome, the music which synced with the story said it all.
