Dr. S @RT39545835 Sep 15 I loved RocketMan as a kid and after reading the critical reviews I had to re watch to see if I was miss remembering the movie. No, I did not miss remember this is a great movie. I was cracking up through most of the film. As a over 40 year old nearly fulling grown man this is a winner for clean humor. It made a lasting impression on me for Harland's practical / physical / prop comedy. Naturally, it makes a lasting impression with humble viewers, compared to proud and prestigious members of the National Society of Film Critics (for whatever that's worth. Honestly, that makes it even more worth watching to viewers like me!) So if you have a family, and / or enjoy tame and silly comedy, then it's movie night. My favorite scene is where Fred is in the isolation chamber during his training. You'll have to see it to enjoy it for yourself! As a child who thought this movie was incredible, there are some immensely quotable moments, specifically the testing moments at NASA. Once the flight leaves to Mars, my interest level also blasted off. The "I've got the whole world in my hands" is highly memorable, but everything else falls flat. There were parts that literally made me crack up. The movie as a whole is trash but you can also make art out of trash so there you go. See more 08/15/2023 This may not be the intellectual masterpiece of the late 20th century, but it is one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen. Watched it many times with tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. There’s a reason why the audience score is much higher than the critics score.. because audiences have an actual sense of humor.
