Jon L @RT83528348 Nov 23 I love this film. It's far than a vehicle for Cliff Richard, it is a really interesting insight into a Britain long gone. It's an intriguing interconnected collection of stories and circumstances with a fantastic central performance from the massively underrated Anthony Quayle. Irene Brown, as Quayle's mother, is also highly engaging. Sarah Churchill (daughter of Sir Winston) is a little over the top, but all in all this is a film which I feel was ahead of it's time. See more 12/24/2016 It's a very strong storyline for the time, so its a little weird to have Cliff Richard singing a couple of his songs within it, but this must have been some sort of deal breaker to finance this lower budget movie. Anthony Quayle puts in such a good performance you soon forget about these interludes anyhow. The movie contains 3 parts of Cliff Richard songs including the Rock'n'Roll version of " Living Doll " wich later became a slow version and became his first Nr 1 in many Country's wich he did over 27 years later together with The Young Ones !
