Nic F @munitots Nov 3 Perfect combination of director and writers – Alice Lowe and Steve Oram are soooo good in this bleakly dark, dry, very British comedy. The plot really creeps up on you, as we learn about the characters. The little revelations along the way are, whilst shocking, shown as self-justified and understandable to the character's mind's eyes. The everyday-ness of them, makes this extra funny and their motivations are easily relatable. Absolutely loved this. I'm not a fan of all of Ben Wheatley's movies, but they are ALWAYS new and interesting takes, and never dull. This is a stand out for me. As the murders pile up, it becomes less and less humorous. This film really shows how dull such an excursion would be in that part of the world in real life (of course, minus the mayhem). The scenery of the landscapes look great. Some editing choices seem questionable. Some of the music and its timing is iffy. A good comedic watch.
