See more Peter W @RT12077588 04/29/2023 Overall, it is a bloody, gross, supernatural story about a single mother who will do anything for her son, including digging up her past life as a member of a dark cult. Performances are fine, but the leads have moments of unconvincing dialogue and good tension. Son has a nice set-up as a horror movie but is generally vague in its plot details. The big reveal is highly predictable, and I also found it to be a massive letdown and disappointment. This film will undoubtedly have its followers, but sadly this didn't work for me as well as I would have preferred. Solid pacing, well-acted with some disturbing scenes makes for an engrossing movie for horror buffs. Worth checking out. His mother is willing to break all ethical barriers to keep her son alive. A mixed bag of different horror genres: cult, body disease and mental illness. The combined effect works well.
