Crossing it is prohibited as it leads to a magical realm where nothing is to be believed and no-one is to be trusted. Such a charming fantasy love story with an incredible cast and this banger of a theme song.

If you’re looking for something whimsical and fairytale like movie then that’s definitely something you will enjoy. It’s not one of the best movies of the genre but it’s pretty decent. Michelle Pfeiffer is so good as a villain, I liked her in Maleficent (2019) and I liked her in this. Robert De Niro is another highlight of this movie, he was great in this, I loved his role and how he delivered. He brought to this film exactly what was needed to make it more fun and entertaining. When it comes to Yvaine - that’s where they missed the mark imo. I feel like they should’ve cast someone else for this role. But in general the whole movie is a vibe, I think it’s worth a watch.

While Matthew Vaughn is usually known for a sharp, subversive edge, Stardust feels surprisingly safe. It's strange and disappointing for him to be so generic, opting for a traditional fairytale structure that lacks his typical stylistic punch. The film is perfectly watchable and features a charming cast, but it ultimately settles into a predictable groove. It is fine for a cozy night in, but it is ultimately a forgettable entry in an otherwise bold filmography.
