I was interested in "Super Troopers" because it's always had a cult following status, as well as a third movie's trailer playing recently. This movie is exactly what I'd expect from a silly early 2000s comedy. The movie is full of goofy moments, and as long as you're willing to meet it where it's at, it can be a fun time. I even found the characters more endearing than expected by the end of it. That being said, this movie is fairly thin on story and is really just made for laughs. Overall, it is a good time that I feel could have been more enjoyable if I watched it with friends, but it does deliver a vibe that feels nostalgic, light, and fun enough.

Super Troopers knows exactly what kind of comedy it wants to be and fully embraces it. Broken Lizard fills the film with quotable dialogue, running gags, and absurd situations, while the legendary opening traffic stop sets the tone almost immediately. The idea of following a group of immature Vermont state troopers gives the movie a unique identity and creates plenty of opportunities for ridiculous encounters. Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske have fantastic chemistry, making the group feel like lifelong friends. Their natural camaraderie keeps the humor entertaining, and the brisk pacing rarely lets the energy fade. The plot is little more than a framework to connect one comedic set piece to the next, and the juvenile humor won't appeal to everyone. Still, if you enjoy its brand of immature comedy, Super Troopers delivers plenty of memorable laughs and remains an easy film to revisit.
