Journalist Tamara Drewe (Gemma Arterton) returns to the small town she grew up in and causes a stir. Once an unattractive teenager with a big nose, she's had cosmetic surgery and transformed herself into a beautiful girl. She is the object of attention for three different men: Andy (Luke Evans) a local handyman and her former boyfriend; Ben (Dominic Cooper), a drummer in a rock band; and Nicholas (Roger Allam), the man who runs the local writers' colony -- and also happens to be married.

Tamara Drewe is a fascinating rom-com that ends on a tale spin of a finale. Wow! Didn’t expect This at all. Gemma Leads fantastically as Tam back to her home country to be entangled in a love triangle and plus one. The teens are a standout of calamity and mischief, and as a result, consequences for their actions tear heartstrings. A riveting watch of a Comicbook adaptation.

(laughs) wow so much happens just around one character I would have loved this movie if it hadn't been for that damn little 'Jody' character, I really just wanted to slap the hell out of her other than that big distraction from the plot there's beautiful scenery in the British landscapes and fine acting from Gemma Arterton Dominic Cooper is terrific comic-relief does make one ponder too; how do we attempt to succeed in life if somethin big doesnt happen to us terrible or not? its a funny, witty and sexy graphic novel adaptation that can stand on its own two feet

Luke Evans and Tamsin Greig must have been desperate for work when they signed up for this film. There was no real plot, the whole ‘storyline' was incredibly superficial and the ending was awful. That was 110 minutes of my life wasted.

This is the first review I have written on here, but I thought it would be remiss of me not to warn you. What utter tripe. A misogynistic, desperate romp (ie crashing tits and arse into flagstones) through an English countryside, with an English cast putting on desperately implausible English Accents. How it seems so dated I have no idea. I am honestly surprised that this even got made. Ridiculous twaddle that I has infuriated me from beginning to end. I want to swear profusely, but that is disallowed. Please believe me though, this is fuffing sh!te.

Enjoyed this well-acted albeit farfetched Hardy adaptation of the graphic novel; Supporting work in some ways exceeded that of Arterton who visually fits the role but is often the least interesting character.
